The name Rustic Acres was inspired by the beautiful country acreage we call home in Dubuque County, Iowa. Our cattery began here, in our log cabin surrounded by the peaceful simplicity of country life. The name felt like a natural reflection of who we are: warm, down-to-earth, family-centered, and deeply connected to the animals we raise.

My journey to Maine Coons came after many fulfilling chapters in my life. Over the years, I have worked as a radiologic technologist and mammographer, a massage therapist, and—most importantly—raised three daughters. When my youngest left home, I found myself entering a new season of life and searching for something that would bring me the same sense of purpose and joy I had found in raising my girls.
